hejira is the name of a 1976 joni mitchell album. a creation that i consider one of the most awesome albums ever produced. i love joni so sincerely. from the bottom of my heart. her music moves me in a way that nothing else can. hejira the word might be looked upon to mean journey; joni once said of the album “the whole ‘Hejira’ album was really inspired… I wrote the album while traveling cross-country by myself and there is this restless feeling throughout it… The sweet loneliness of solitary travel.” and I suppose that’s a little how i see and how i understand my life. i’m often surrounded by many, but i so crave that solitary sweetness. being alone, while others are at the end of the journey to quench my loneliness like a thirst.
